[<–Pic of E. talking to Daddy]
J. called to tell me that they have made The Big Move and they are now in a much safer place. He had been in the Sunni Triangle (very pro-Saddam) and he said the people there were just scary. I think that its safe to say that the Team at times felt hung out to dry.
He said the drive was horrible; they had to travel through mountains in extreme heat so their vehicles overheated quite a bit and they were constantly stopping and having to unhitch trailers and switch vehicles…the ultimate Bad Road Trip.
So, what’s next for J? I don’t know; they have a couple of options and, thankfully, neither one seems to require an extension. I don’t care if it’s underwater basket weaving. Just as long as he’s out of that Hole of a place he was in.
I would like to be excited, but the Army (and life) has taught me well – you know, that proverbial "other shoe." Iraq itself is a very dangerous place so J. is not in the clear; he’s just saf-ER. And while it looks like they are still set to come home on time, you just never know. But I will still be thanking God tonight for answered prayers. I’m just doing this one day at a time…

Do I have to call you guys “C” and “E” and “J” 🙂 I get confused easily… I too just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of and praying for you guys. My brother has also escaped extension so he should be back in 2 months! Sam is ok and has put his papers in for R&R. Now I just need that Time Accelerator…

Praising and thanking God with you, E, and mom-in-law for answered prayer on J’s behalf! Now, Lord, we ask that you continue to protect J and team body, soul, and spirit from all enemies (both physical and spiritual) in Jesus’ precious name.
Amen! ~ mom xo

It may not be the best news (he’s coming home) but at least it’s news that he is OK and in a “safER” place. We are all continue to pray. I also need a picture that we can put on the board at church. They keep asking me for one. Something in uniform……dress or desert, it doesn’t really matter. Thanks for keeping us all posted. Love ya’ll
