I worked up these ballet slippers using single crochet for the toe, and half-double for the rest. They’re a bit wonky, and I think one is a little bigger than the other, but E. loves them and asks for them when she wears her dress and tutu (they look very distinctly like a "left" and "right" because she’s worn them so much). Per ariane’s suggestion, I ordered some yarn from elann.com and picked out some lovely colors. I’m so new to yarn-shopping that I didn’t realize this yarn would be quite a bit smaller (thinner? ugh, what a newbie) than what I expected. It’s more delicate to work with, and softer. The smallest hook I had was an f hook (3.75 mm), but I think I would use a size smaller for a tidier stitch.
I haven’t sewn anything in a while and I have at least three projects I want to finish in the next couple of weeks. But J. has hijacked my table, and stress has hijacked my creativity. Maybe I need a new pair of shoes.

So cute! Could you share the pattern? Or let me know where I could purchase it? I have someone who would LOVE them 🙂
