going somewhere?

Last year it was dressers.  This year its chairs and suitcases.

If you saw the growing collection of both in my garage, you'd think I either planned to do a lot of sitting or a lot of going.

You remember MAD's suitcase?  I didn't stop there.  When I spied the mustard American Tourister in a dark corner under a shelf at our dumpy Salvation Army I snatched it up.

Then I saw this strawberry Carousel suitcase and couldn't believe it.  I mean who gives up a suitcase that color?  There was a matching train case perched on the shelf above it that I probably should have picked up but I didn't.

I'm hoping to use these in a session sometime.  At prices like these I just couldn't pass it up.

Amber - How fun! Can’t wait to see how you use these in your shots!

Erin Beck - We had one like the yellow one, I think it was blue. I remember it being very hard and had a silk fabric lining.

Shanna (PinkTrees) - the top photo is lovely! how big is the blue case? i could see a cute little babe sitting/laying in it! you could fill the insides of the lower suitcases with items to give them more support and weight and prop something up behind them so they don’t topple over. the pic would be a cute birth announcement! “our new little bundle of joy just arrived!”

LauraJ - I love an old suitcase! I have one in my room that’s been waiting 2 years to have it’s insides refinished.

Debbie J. - I want to thank you for your half apron tutorial. I made one Saturday and posted a picture today. Your instructions were easy to follow and mine turned out great! Thanks Very much!

Amber - You were definitely right in snagging those off the shelf! I love the mustard and strawberry with the blue. Such a bright pop of fun color with vintage flair!

Dayna - I’d love to have that kind of vision. I like your style!

Beth - oh, what a great steal!

Mom - They all remind me of my younger years… and guess what? they all survived baggage claim MUCH better than the soft-sided luggage of today!

Bianca - what a great collection! I’ve missed reading your blog…your photography is beautiful, by the way.

Jen - I so love the three suitcases, massing them together like that brings their graphic quality up to a 10! Great props. I enjoy your photographs, too. And, the sewing ideas. Good inspiration.
